Appleton, Wis. (WFRV) -- The Festival Foods Appleton fireworks show was a big hit Tuesday night, despite soaring temperatures.

Onlookers found ways to overcome the heat, and help out a good cause at the same time.

Some of the proceeds from tonight's fundraiser will go towards purchasing Christmas gifts for local children in need and who are registered through the Salvation Army.

Local 5 Reporter Bret Lemoine has the complete story.
