Shots fired in Appleton

Appleton, Wis. (WFRV) -- Police have responded to a report of shots fired on the 100 Block of East Spring Road late Friday night. 

Police tell Local 5 they were called because of a "suspicious incident", but few details are being released at this time.

Police have confirmed that an officer fired shots in the incident.  The suspect has been shot, but police aren't saying if the officer shot the suspect or if it was someone else.

As of late Friday night, Appleton Police say the suspect was not taken from the premises.
