SHAWANO, Wis.(WFRV)--There have been signs of tension during the recall campaign, and in Shawano, that tension led to campaign yard signs being stolen.
Residents tell us that in one night, more than a hundred yard signs for Tom Barrett and Mahlon Mitchell were taken from front yards.
Many homeowners drew up new signs supporting not only the recall, but quoting the 8th commandment - Thou Shall Not Steal.
Shawano Democrats are convinced that it's NOT the work of kids.
Says Janice Koch, "People would have to know that sign is there. They would have had to canvass throughout the area and found that sign and said: 'This night we're going to go and we're going to get this sign as well'.  Because it all happened on the same night."
Each sign cost homeowners two-dollars to replace.
