WWII Veteran dies on Honor Flight to Pearl Harbor

(WFRV) Local 5 has learned a World War II veteran on his way to Pearl Harbor died in flight Thursday.

 

89-year old Sparta Native Mark Schaitel was one of 20 veterans headed to Hawaii with the Northeast Wisconsin Old Glory Honor Flights.

"We are honored to have served him thru our very moving send ceremony at O'hare and we are dedicating the remainder of this wonderful journey to mark's memory."
