Wisconsin Says Goodbye to "No Child Left Behind"

MANITOWOC, Wis ( WFRV) - "No Child Left Behind" is the federal law that requires all students to achieve proficient math and reading scores by 2014. Wisconsin is one of 26 states who've won their bid to be relieved of some requirements.
The state plans to do so by setting higher expectations for students, educators and schools. It will also change academic standards, instructional practices and assessments. State officials now have the flexibility it wants to help students improvement every year.
This was the first time Wisconsin applied for the waiver of the "No Child Left Behind law."
