GREENLEAF, Wis. (WFRV) - A local wine maker has found a way to recycle his grape skins and seeds.
After they have been pressed for wine the remains of the fruit are dried out.
The owner of Trout Springs Winery then grinds the pulp up to form a powder.
You can either take it in a capsule form or add it to your favorite baked goods.
The grape powder is even being added to cheese.
It offers the same health benefits of drinking wine without alcohol or sugar.
"The older we get the more plaque we get in our veins. This stuff eats away at that, reduces high blood pressure, reduces heart disease, gum disease" explains Steve DeBaker, owner of Trout Springs Winery.
All the products are available at the winery located in Greenleaf.
