Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) State Senator Dave Hansen has beaten a challenge by Republican John Macco to hold on to his state senate seat.

Hansen, a Green Bay Democrat, has been in the senate since 2000.

He survived a recall challenge in 2011 for his part in protesting governor walker's act 10.

Macco says his business background will serve taxpayers well.

Hansen says he's an advocate for veterans, unions, and women's rights.
