Howard, Wis. (WFRV) More than 200 veterans came together to share war stories and pay tribute to their fallen brothers at the VFC hall in Howard.
New, and old vets ate breakfast and held a raffle at the annual event.
It was sponsored by the Brown County Veterans Recognition Subcommittee, their mission, to honor living veterans.
"It's everything to me," Scott Flegel says, "I love serving my country. I've been in for 17 years, going for my full 20, so it means a lot to me."
"There isn't a time in the day, every day of my adult life, since Vietnam, I have thought about Vietnam and the things that happened there," Gene Wheaton adds.
The recognition sub-committee has put on the breakfast and raffle every year since 2006.
