Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)- Local American Red Cross workers headed to the East Coast before and after Hurricane Sandy hit
One local worker has just returned and she is sharing her story.
Barbara Behling spent 10 days in both Washington DC and the New York area.
She saysthe  storm took lives and property, but not the spirit of many.
The Red Cross and other organizations provided meals, housing and medical attention to those in need.
Although there are thousands of boots on the ground to help, the needs are still great.
Barbara Behling, American Red Cross, northeast Wisconsin Chapter, "The best way to help the American Red Cross and help the East Coast really respond and recover is with a financial gift, because we can take those funds and be very efficient with your funds.. just $10 will buy a hot meal and blanket."
The Red Cross says there are more than 57-hundred disaster responders assigned to help people in 10 states and Washington DC.
