MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) This Veterans Day weekend will be very special for one Menasha vet. The Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity is giving his home a makeover.
New windows, siding, roofing, bathroom and a porch are just some of the upgrades being made to this Menasha home. The navy veteran and his wife say they barely can make ends meet, so, doing these $9,000 in upgrades at one time would be tough.
However, the remodeling is all made possible through the Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity revitalizing neighborhoods. "It's a pretty good sum, but that's something they would not be able to say ok here is a $9,000 check because this hold thing is part of the deal with zero percent financing for these folks and be able to do it for up to 10 years and make it affordable and they are here helping out," said Craig Lebeau with Habitat.
Habitat says if they didn't get a reduced price in cost for materials and its 17 volunteers on this project, the remodeling would cost more than $20,000.
