Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)-- Many mom and pop shops are also hoping to cash in on holiday shopping this weekend.
Thousands of smaller businesses locally and across the country will try to lure customers.. by offering their own deals and promotions on what's been dubbed Small Business Saturday.
Local businesses like Sassy Girl in Green Bay's Broadway District are embracing the idea.
Store owners say they provide a perfect compliment to bigger box stores.
Says Nicole Zich, Owner of Sassy Girl in Green Bay, "I would say that they go to the big box stores to get your big ticket items and get your electronics and stuff you can't get at the specialty stores, but then they come down here for those great gift items for other people and themselves."
Credit card company American Xxpress, a sponsor of Small Business Saturday, is even offering an incentive for card holders.
