Pulaski, Wis.(WFRV)--Barely more than a year ago, a fast- moving fire destroyed a large section of downtown Pulaski.
While the site has been cleared,  the future is still uncertain.

Even if you've rarely been to the village of Pulaski, the fire has left it's mark in the form of a huge vacant lot.

The blaze destroyed several buildings including a restaurant and bowling alley that were community gathering points.
Since then, the site has been cleared and grass planted there.

But residents are divided on what, if anything should be built there.

Longtime resident Dick Jarock told Local Five News, "A bowling alley would be nice.  I saw a letter that somebody wrote about a second-run theater, we used to have a theater in town.  Something like that. something for the families."
Rebecca Charlier told us, "It may be a little too early to decide what would best go there."

With reconstruction work on Highway 160, or Pulaski Road, set for next spring, village officials believe that could make the corner more attractive for development.
Local Five's Terry Kovarik has the story.
