Green Bay, Wis.(WFRV)--Local 5 announces an exciting new chapter in local news with Local 5 This Morning which will premiere Monday, December 31st at 5:00am.  Anchored by Tara Joyce and Rich Klindworth, Local 5 This Morning is a fresh start for Local 5 News.

"In order to build a strong foundation for our morning news we knew it was time to do something bold and exciting."  Local 5 News Director Kent Harrell said.  "After an extensive nationwide search, we've found an anchor team in Tara Joyce and Rich Klindworth that will definitely bring a fresh approach and a new perspective to local morning news."

Tara Joyce joins the Local 5 team after a successful run at the Fox Business Network, Fox News Channel and CBS radio in New York City.  A native of Long Island, her father is a retired New York City firefighter who served at Ground Zero after 9/11.  "It's a great thrill to be working in another one of America's great cities."  Tara remarked.

Rich Klindworth has been an anchor reporter for TV stations in Texas and Pennsylvania as well as South and North Carolina.  A native of Pittsburgh, Rich is a Steelers and Packers fan in equal measures and found it nearly impossible to pick sides during Super Bowl XLV.  "I wore a Steelers jersey and a Packers hat during the game."  Rich recalls.  "So coming to Green Bay and working in the shadow of Lambeau Field and covering news in a city where so many of my heroes took the field is very exciting"

Tara and Rich join Local 5 morning veterans Meteorologist Justin Steinbrink and reporter Wendy Fleury.

"With Tara, Rich, Justin and Wendy, we really think we've found all the parts in building a winning team in the morning."  Local 5 General Manager Joe Denk said.  "When we set out to reestablish ourselves in the morning, it wasn't enough to just shuffle things around, we worked extremely hard to build everything about This Morning from the ground up. I think that's something the viewers will recognize and appreciate," Denk continued.  "I think Local 5 This Morning is our next big step in providing the area the very best news coverage possible."

Tara and Rich talked to Local Five's Kris Schuller today about the new show, and their thoughts on coming to Green Bay.
