GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) The celebration of the Hmong New Year began Saturday morning.  Hundreds attended the event, held at the Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Organizers tell us the Hmong New Year celebrates the end of the harvest.  They compare it to an American Thanksgiving and New Year rolled into one.  Vendors had lots of food, jewelry and clothes for sale.

The celebration continues until mid-night, and resume at 8 am Sunday.
