More water pipes burst

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) The cold weather is to blame for several other busted pipes across Green Bay Sunday.  Residents reported that officials came by their homes early this morning to notify them water would be shut off for repairs.  Four broken pipes were reported this weekend.

The water utility says cracks and holes caused by cold temperatures force them to turn water off in affected areas.  "That's almost expected. We are going to get 130-200 breaks every year, and we are replacing a lot of old pipes to bring that number down," we're told.

Officials say water is usually shut off for 2-3 hours when a break occurs.
