Crossing Guard and Student Struck in Appleton

Green Bay , Wis. (WFRV) - An Appleton crossing guard and a student of McKinley Elementary School were struck this morning.

Appleton Police responded to a crash just before 8 AM that involved a vehicle traveling eastbound on Taft Avenue.

The 49 year-old crossing guard was assisting a 10 year-old student across the street when they were both struck. The student's arm was injured and the crossing guard suffered a leg injury. Both received medical attention. The person driving the vehicle was not injured.

Appleton Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
