Brown County (WFRV) Hundreds of hearty folks were Freezin' for a Reason Saturday in Howard.
Nearly 1-thousand brave souls took a dip in the frigid waters at the Watering Hole Tavern for the thirteenth annual Polar Plunge.
The event supports Special Olympics athletes right here in Northeast Wisconsin.
Organizers say the chill is a small price to pay for supporting a good cause.
"If you can tell your friends from around the country that you jumped in the freezing cold water in Green Bay, WI in the middle of February, then you know you're a good person. It warms your heart." Said Kathy Walker, Regional Director/Special Olympics Northeast WI.
Local 5's very own Wendy Fleury took the plunge Saturday.
Last year all of the Polar Plunges held across the state raised a combined two million dollars for Special Olympics of Wisconsin.
