MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) - Another election season is underway. Soon voters in Manitowoc will head to the polls to elect a mayor.

Current mayor Justin Nickels is running for another term. He's being challenged by business owner Tony Burgarino. The two met for a debate Wednesday afternoon. It was sponsored by the Chamber of Manitowoc County.

Both told voters why they think they deserve the job.

"I think I've done a very good job of handling the city's finances," Mayor Nickels said. "being open to citizens input and I feel Manitowoc could be served really well by re-electing me for another four year term."

"The city is in pretty rough shape and I like a good challenge," Burgarino said. "I want to take on some serious challenges and take care of the problems at hand here."

The election is April 2nd.
