Second Night of Full Hwy 41 Closure in Green Bay

(Green Bay) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is announcing all lanes of US 41, between Lombardi Avenue and Dousman Street in Brown County, are closing to traffic for two nights, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., beginning Monday, April 9. The full freeway closures are required for the setting of girders on the new Mason Street overpass. A detour will be in place, but motorists are strongly encouraged to consider alternate routes.

Full freeway closure details:
Complete closure of north and southbound US 41, between Lombardi Avenue and
Dousman Street, overnight from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for two days: April 9 and 10, 2012

  • Northbound US 41 traffic will be detoured off the highway at Lombardi Avenue, directed east to Military Avenue, north on Military Avenue to Shawano Avenue, west on Shawano Avenue to US 41
  • Southbound US 41 traffic will be detoured off the highway at Dousman Street, directed to Shawano Avenue, east on Shawano Avenue to Military Avenue, south on Military Avenue to Lombardi Avenue, west on Lombardi Avenue to US 41
  • Northbound US 41 on-ramp from Lombardi Avenue and southbound US 41 on-ramp from WIS 29 closed each night
  • Various closures on north and southbound US 41, between WIS 172 and WIS 29, each night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
While WisDOT expects to complete the work in two nights, all construction is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
