Become a Trained Weather Spotter

By: Chelly Boutott
Updated: April 14, 2012

Outagamie County (WFRV)  Wisconsin is entering into severe weather season, and being prepared can save lives.

So it's important to have properly trained people watching for storms that can cause major destruction or casualties.

Which is why the National Weather Service offers free multimedia weather spotter training seminars.

Today the National Weather Service teamed up with Outagamie County Emergency Management to offer a seminar.

The course shows people how to recognize the different weather patterns so they can spot severe weather and report to the National Weather Service.

If you are interested in becoming a trained spotter, the following website has a list of future seminars in our area.
