Salmonella Outbreak

  (WFRV) A Local 5 consumer warning.  Tuna used to make sushi dishes at restaurants and grocery stores has been linked to an outbreak of Salmonella.

 

Moon Marine USA Corporation of California is voluntarily recalling 58,828 lbs of a frozen raw Yellowfin tuna product, labeled as Nakaochi Scrape AA or AAA.

 

Federal officials say the outbreak has sickened more than 100 people in 20 states, including 12 people in Wisconsin

 

The FDA says a total of 116 illnesses have been reported-- 12 of them had to be hospitalized.  No deaths have been reported.
