NFL Draft: Trader Ted? Thompson moves up again to take N. C. State's Manning in Round 5

By: Nick Goddard
Updated: April 28, 2012
Coming into this year, Packers General Manager Ted Thompson had only traded up three times in his previous 7 drafts in Green Bay.

He's now done it three times in 2012 alone.

After trading up twice on Friday, Thompson sent a 6th round pick and two 7th rounders to the New England Patriots to move back into the 5th round to take N.C. State linebacker Terrell Manning.  He is the 6th defensive player to be taken by the Packers in their six picks.

Green Bay has just two compensatory 7th rounders remaining on Saturday.

Here is the CBS Sports breakdown of Manning.
