Free Lunch in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) Starting today, kids can get free lunches at local parks in Green Bay.

 

The free meals are being offered through the federally-funded summer food program. All kids 18 years of age and younger are eligible to get the free meals. Registration isn't required. All kids have to do is go to the park to enjoy the nutritious lunch. They are required to stay at the park while eating.

 

Anyone over 18 can also take part for a $2 fee.

 

The program runs Monday through Friday from June 13th through August 17th. Lunch will not be served on July 4th.

 

Here's a list of participating parks and the time the lunches are offered:

 

Astor Park, 12:40 p.m. - 12:55 p.m.

Baird Park, 11:40 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

Bayview, 12:05 p.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Beaumont, 11:45 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.

Beaver Dam Park, 12:30 p.m. - 12:35 p.m.

Boys and Girls Club East, 12:00 p.m.

Boys and Girls Club West, 12:00 p.m.

Central Library, 11:00 a.m. - 11:15 a.m.

Colburn Park, 11:55 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.

Danz Park, 1:00 p.m. - 1:10 p.m.

Eastman Park, 11:50 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

East River (John Street), 12:10 p.m. - 12:20 p.m.
Edison Park, 11:20 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Eisenhower, 11:10 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.

Farlin Park, 12:20 p.m. - 12:35 p.m.

Fireman's Park, 12:45 p.m. - 12:55 p.m.

Fisk Park, 1:10 p.m. - 1:20 p.m.

Fort Howard, 12:40 p.m. - 12:50 p.m.

In addition, free meals will also be available at the following events:

 

City Track & Field at West High School - Thursday, June 21, lunch at Fisk Park

Go Skateboarding Day at Joannes Skate Park - Thursday, June 21, lunch at 2:00 p.m.

Kid's Day at Leicht Park - Monday, June 25, lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Wildlife Sanctuary Day at the Wildlife Sanctuary - Thursday, June 28, lunch at 12:00 p.m.

Games Day at Fisk Park on Wednesday, July 11

City-wide Sports Tournament Day at Colburn Park - Thursday, July 19

Get Active and Move Smart at Legion Park - Wednesday, July 25, lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Kiddie Karnival Parade at Joannes Park - Monday, August 13, lunch at 12:00 p.m. and snack at 2:00 p.m.

Kiddie Karnival at Leicht Park - Tuesday, August 14, dinner at 4:00 p.m.
