Fond du Lac's Fireworks: "All systems go!"

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) Fireworks shows in Appleton, Green Bay, Sheboygan and even Fond du Lac are "all systems go." There have been lots of concerns with the show in Fond du Lac, because fireworks are launched from the grass at Lakeside Park. Crews have been pumping water onto the field, turning what was once brown a whole lot greener. They've also moved the launch site 100 yards closer to the lake to cut back on burning embers blowing back onto the shore.
Fond du Lac's Fire Chief, Pete O'Leary, says dry conditions aren't really a concern anymore, but they're still taking precautions. "There will be no fireworks allowed in here other than what the pros set off. The public won't be allowed to bring any open-flamed devices other than a little grill or something like that."
There's still a slight worry strong winds could blow through the show. However, organizers admit that's a really slim chance.
