Stevens Point, Wis.(WFRV)--Wisconsin is getting a wolf hunt season. The Department of Natural Resources board voted to move forward today.

Officials and about 100 residents packed a banquet hall in Stevens Point for discussion.

Many of those in attendance held varying opinions on the wolf season.

Some feel it is a good thing -- and the population needs to be lowered.

But others -- say they want the animals left alone.

Chairman of the Natural Resources board, David Clauson, had this to say. "I think its very important that they come out here to speak. Like I say, they have passion about this. It's important that they express that passion in their opinions."

Although the season is a sure thing -- some things are not yet finalized.

A few of them include.. how many wolves will be taken.. permit limits and specific zones.
