Injuries cause Packers to shorten practice Monday night

Updated: August 6, 2012
Monday night's practice was the Packers' shortest of camp, due to the amount of players forced to miss due to injuries.

The practice, the 9th and final instillation of camp, wrapped up in a hour and 45 minutes.  Afterward, Mike McCarthy ruled 8 players out of Thursday night's preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers:  WR Greg Jennings, G Ray Dominguez, WR Tori Gurley, FB Jon Hoese, TE Eric Lair, T Mike McCabe, and TE Ryan Taylor.

Left tackle Marshall Newhouse, who also suffered a concussion on Family Night, hasn't been ruled out of Thursday's game yet.  McCarthy said he'd be re-evaluated on Tuesday.

Linebacker Desmond Bishop, in just his second padded practice of camp, looks ready to go for the season.  He made a great interception off of Graham Harrell during a team drill Monday night.  Bishop had been very agressive on Sunday night in his return to the field.

The team will return to Ray Nitschke Field on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.  McCarthy said they would use the practice to focus on their Thursday night opponent, the San Diego Chargers.
