Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) - A pair of Packers fans decided to travel to Green Bay for the Packers season opener the old fashion way, by horse and buggy.

Bob and Marin Retzlaff left their home in Tomah earlier this week.

Unfortunately, their annual journey to Lambeau Field was cut short this year because of technical problems.

Their buggy broke down yesterday, and while they were able to fix it, their horse Stardust was so spooked  he refused to make the final leg of the trip.

Even with this year's problems, the couple says a horse and buggy is one of the best ways to travel.

"Every guy should take his wife for a buggy ride, after she drives you buggy, take them on a buggy ride," Bob says.  "It's so relaxing in here," Maren added, "the sound of the horse, the fresh air. I sleep."

They ended up using a more conventional way to make it to green bay for Sunday's game, by car.

This was the 11th year they've tried to make the trip with a horse and buggy.
