Little Suamico, Wis. (WFRV) -- With the presidential election on Tuesday, we have the final installment of our We The People series.
Over the past eight months, Local 5 has gotten to know the Nelson family.
Cynthia and Ron Nelson have three kids.
They have conservative views strongly rooted in their faith.
As the seasons changed in 2012, the Nelson's opinions stayed the same.
Mitt Romney will get their vote.
"I already knew who I was going to vote for so my opinion isn't really swayed one way or the other" says Cynthia. "I stand with my political party and I stand with the candidate they have chosen".
"I have thought about the issues more, but I'm kind of stubborn and straight minded. I've always had the same views" says Ron.
We the People covered a wide range of topics.
"It has been good. It gets my husband and I discussing. I've talked with coworkers and people that I meet" says Cynthia.
The couple shared their thoughts on gender equality, taxes, education, employment and more.
Ron says "I think they're relevant. It think they were relevant 40 years ago too and they'll be relevant 40 years from now".
For the Nelsons less regulation, and less government control is a good thing.
They've decided to home school their kids to make sure their religion is a part of daily lessons.
"I hope other people have been helped through this process by listening to me. I'm just trying to be realistic and just say it like it is. No sugar coating. That is what I expect from our candidates. Just tell me how it is. I'm a big boy I can handle it" says Ron with a smile.
"I would hope that people are able to relate, if it's not to us, to another person or family that has been portrayed this past year" says Cynthia.
