Firefighters Battle Appleton Blaze

APPLETON, Wisc. (WFRV) A family of five is homeless after a fire ripped through their Appleton home last night.

Just before 10pm, firefighters were dispatched to 317 East Spring Street for reports of smoke and flames coming from a bedroom.

While the fire was contained to the bedroom only, the house sustained heavy smoke damage.

No injuries were reported in the blaze and no damage estimates were available.

The cause is under investigation.
