GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Mitt Romney is making his closing argument to voters.

The republican is concentrating on key swing states where polls show he is trailing slightly behind President Obama.

Overall polls show the republican hopeful is in a dead heat with the incumbent.

Romney had an ambitious day, with stops planned in Florida, Ohio, Virginia and New Hampshire.

He is logging the miles hoping they add up to votes.

"It could come right down here to this state, to Wisconsin, to Brown County, to Green Bay" says Ron Johnson, United States Senator from Wisconsin.

"It is huge" says volunteer Lisa Urick. "It is really fun to be at the center of that. In the past I have worked on other campaigns, and we've just been another state".

Volunteers like Urick were energized after hearing from republican headliners.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Senator Johnson and Congressman Reid Ribble are among the group touring the state.

"Let's be honest. President Obama has done his best. His best isn't good enough for America" says Jindal.

"Women continue to say jobs and the economy are the number one issue" says Marsha Blackburn, a congresswoman from Tennessee. She says Romney has her home state locked up, so she is here in Wisconsin to secure more votes.

In every state the message is the same: Look at the President's record.

"You hoped that President Obama would live up to his promise to bring people together and to solve problems. He hasn't. I will" says Romney.

According to Jindal "We need to reduce our deficit, we need to get the private sector going again, we need to be producing more energy at home instead of buying it from abroad".

A promise of change on day one, that depends on a strong republican turnout on election day.

"I need your vote, I need your help" Romney told voters.
