Howard, Wis.(WFRV)-- Bay View Middle School students in the Howard-Suamico school district took time to reflect on Veteran's Day.
This morning, students and staff gathered around the school flag pole, as local veterans raised the American flag.
School band members played taps to honor fallen veterans, and students left in silence - showing respect for those who have served.
US Navy veteran MIchael Sheedy, who served in Vietnam, was there. Said Sheedy, "The students were incredibly respectful, when you get 800 middle schoolers to leave in total silence -- it's a very dignified, very moving ceremony"
Staff members say its a simple tribute to remember veterans who have given so much.
