Overnight Fire Lights Up Sky

TOWN OF BUCHANAN, Wisc. (WFRV) Multiple fire departments battled a house fire in the Town of Buchanan overnight.

An officer was first on scene at the home on Snowberry Road around 10:30pm. The officer reported flames so intense, they lit up the night sky.

Everyone in the home was able to escape uninjured before rescue personnel arrived.

The Town of Buchanan fire department received help from multiple area departments because so many firefighters were gone deer hunting.

"Fire chiefs in the heart of the Valley here all talk to each other on a regular basis, so we all know the situation we all face with deer hunting, with limited staffing. So it is all put in place before deer hunting starts for the entire week. This is standard operating procedure," said Town of Buchanan Chief Rick Schroeder.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
