Walker says all of his forums will be held at small businesses because of the random sampling of people, but State Senator Dave Hansen says that gives the governor a limited point of view.
Hansen is upset that the event was limited to employees of Ace Marine, the company that Walker toured on Tuesday.
He says the Governor should be taking ideas from everyone in Green Bay, but Republican lawmakers pushed back saying the Governor will be criticized no matter who he holds a forum with.
Governor Walker spent the day Tuesday touring Ace Marine and taking questions from employees. He says the forums are designed to help build a stronger Wisconsin. Walker will be touring small business companies over the next two months focusing on key issues like job creation and education, but Senator Hansen says it is not enough.
Republican State Representative Jim Steineke disagrees and applauds the Governor for his work. He says he thinks Walker is hosting forums the best way he can.
Walker says he plans to take the ideas learned from his state-wide tour and incorporate them into his budget. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say, the number one focus this legislative session is jobs.
