DNR closes wolf harvest zone

Updated: December 1, 2012

Madison, Wis. (WFRV) -  The Wisconsin DNR has announced it will close wolf harvest zone one effective Sunday.

The zone covers parts of northeastern Wisconsin.

DNR officials say the zone's quota of 32 wolves was met on Saturday.

That makes it the 3rd zone to be closed this season.

Any hunters and trappers who want to continue to pursue wolves can continue to do so in zones 3, 5, and 6.

Zones 5 and 6 may close soon because they are nearing their quota as well.
