Green Bay, Wis (WFRV) A brand new local organization wants to build an indoor skateboard park in Green Bay. Members admit, it will take a lot of time and money, but they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty to get the job done.

"Today would be the first official day of GBASO," says Green Bay Action Sports Organization Executive Director Brian Schroeder.

Schroader is on a mission.

"The end goal is a premier, world class, indoor, action sports facility," he says.

It will take a lot of work. That is why he created GBASO. It's a group of teens who want a place to skateboard when it gets too cold and icy to skate outside, but an indoor skate park costs money. That's why several members of the group signed up to sweep trash at Lambeau Field after the game against the Vikings on Sunday.

PMI Entertainment, a company that manages operations at Lambeau, offers cash to non-profits willing to get their hands dirty.

"This gives people an opportunity to raise money for their non-profit organizations, it is a win-win," says PMI Director of Lambeau Field Operations Laura Norton.

Volunteers start in the south endzone, and it takes about 4-5 hours for them to get all the way through the stadium.

GBASO has signed up to sweep after all three December home games. It is part of their Stadium Sweep-A-Thon.Some of of the proceeds will go to "Going Big in the Bay," a skateboard competition sponsored by one of GBASO's partners, the Green Bay Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department, the rest will go into the indoor complex and start up costs for the organization.

Ramon Montejo has been skateboarding for three years, and says the organization is good for him.

"It keeps me out of trouble," says Montejo.

Montejo is excited about the potential for an indoor park.

"We have to drive like two hours just to go to Milwaukee and skate," he says.

Shroeder, a father of three, admits it is all about the kids.

"It's a good opportunity to work with kids, the youth of the community and get them envolved and active," he says.

Schroeder says, if all goes well, they hope the skate complex will become a reality in the next few years.
