Oshkosh, Wis. (WFRV) - A special commission is looking to make it easier for pedestrians or cyclists to travel between several area cities.

The East Central Wisconsin Planning Commission is in the process of creating a bicycle and pedestrian plan for the Fox Cities and Oshkosh areas.

Wednesday night, one of several public information meetings was held in Oshkosh to try and gather feedback for the plan.

Commission members say plans like this are not common.

"We've been looking at a number of bicycle/pedestrian plans that communities have done," commission member Jason Kakatsch says, "many of those plans end at municipal boundaries and they don't really focus on connecting with other communities so we want to think more regionally and take a look at connecting communities."

The planning process began this summer and is expected to finished in early 2014.
