GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - As the green and gold gear up to tackle the Lions, local law enforcement are preparing to control rowdy fans.

A fight in Stadium District bar parking lot last Sunday landed two people in the hospital, and four people in jail. According to police, a brawl broke out between some Packers and Vikings fans after the game. While incidents that extreme are rare around Lambeau Field, Commander Tim Rolling with Ashwaubenon Public Safety said officers will have their eyes peeled while patrolling this Sunday night.

"A night game gets a little bit dicier because people tend to drink earlier in the day and celebrate all day and then that carries into the game and after the game," he said.

Commander Rolling said there won't be any extra officers on hand. However, those working will be ready to respond to anything.

"We do the best we can to prevent anything major from happening," he added.

Jerry Watson isn't too concerned simply because of the Pack's opponent.

"The Lions don't follow, they never have," explained the owner of Stadium View Bar. "Out of the eight regular season games we have, it will be my slowest game it always is."

Watson said he rarely sees trouble on game days.

"We don't have trouble here just because we don't allow it to start," he said. "We don't encourage it and we will ask you to leave right away."

However you choose to cheer on the green and gold, police have some words of warning.

"We try to tell people to drink in moderation, enjoy the game," said Commander Rolling.

Law enforcement are also warning fans about the winter weather expected Sunday night, urging them to use extra caution when heading to and from Lambeau Field.
