Green Bay (WFRV) - The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation has named the Village of howard - owned 77-acre property known as the "Mill Center," a Wisconsin Certified Site.

The property is now one of only nine certified sites in the state.

The special designation reassures site selectors and potential developers that the property is pre-approved for large industrial development.

Officials say having the property officially certified gives the village a critical advantage.

"When some one's going to build a company, start a company or move jobs around the country, they're looking everywhere." Says Village Administrator Perry Evert, "and you have to stand out. To be certified, a site must be at least 50 acres, have potential for utility and transportation infrastructure, and undergo multiple environmental assessments.
