MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) - While many people are finding ways to have fun on 12/12/12, it means something special to a local Packer backer and birthday boy.
Blake Seidl was born with a lucky number.
"I did give him 12 hugs this morning, really quick ones," Rachel Seidl, Blake's mom, said.
The Manitowoc sixth grader turned 12 years old on 12-12-12.
"I couldn't really sleep last night," Blake said Wednesday morning.
But what makes it even better, he's sharing his day with his hero.
"We couldn't have expected that a few years back when we realized that his golden birthday was going to be falling on 12-12-12," Rachel explained. "Then finding out it's Aaron Rodgers Day, we thought how exciting because he loves Aaron Rodgers, loves the Packers. He's a huge fan."
After custom cookies with his class, the Seidl's were it's off to Lambeau Field to celebrate in style.
"We thought, gosh, how can we make this day special?" Rachel said.
They had a birthday lunch at Curly's Pub, followed by a Lambeau Field tour. But the best present of all, was knowing Aaron Rodgers saw Blake's video. His dad, Jeremy, posted a video of Blake rapping about Aaron Rodger's Day on YouTube. It got quite the response.
"We were originally going to do a video of me talking or something and then I'm like, we should make this into a rap to make it cooler," said Blake.
Rodgers saw the video and mentioned Blake on his weekly radio show and during his Wednesday press conference.
For Blake, it was the ultimate gift for the ultimate birthday.
"He said, 'Mom, do you think I'm going to remember this day?' and I said, 'Oh my gosh, you are definitely going to remember this day and nobody else is going to forget this day either,'" added Rachel.
