Green Bay, Wis. (WFRV) - The Green Bay Salvation Army wants to make the holidays better for families across the area

Thursday, volunteers sorted through thousands of toys, books, and goods in preparation for the organization's Give a Book campaign and Adopt a Family program.

Army staff say it takes a lot of effort to help make sure those programs run smoothly.

"We're here today and all day tomorrow," Steve Jandt, Director of Operations for the Salvation Army says "so it's a full two days and we've got 20-25 people so it's quite the operation, we're going to sort through upwards of probably 20,000 plus toys over the next few days."

All of the goods will be distributed next week.
