GREEN BAY, Wisc. (WFRV) Extra security measures will be in place at Preble High School today after rumors circulating of possible violence.

The rumors were all over social media yesterday. They spoke of possible shootings to happen at the high school today, Friday.

"We are taking additional precautionary measures tomorrow to ensure the safety of our students and staff," Principal Natasha Rowell told Local 5 late last night.

She said if parents choose to keep their child home, they should call the attendance office to document the excuse.

The Green Bay Police Department told Local 5 that they have taken several calls from concerned parents. They are investigating, but believe it just to be rumors.
