Pasadena, California (WFRV/WISC)-- Badger fans are making Pasadena, California their home away from home, as the team prepares for the Rose Bowl.
Many fans are staying at the same hotel as the players.
In fact, it's the sam hotel that's hosted the Badgers three out of the last six Rose Bowl contests.
From welcome signs on the doors... to a giant red "W" projected on the lobby wall -- the hotel knows how to put on a great game face.
Hyatt Regency Marketing Director Adrienne de Vore, "We make sure everybody from the reservation team to the front desk to our culinary team are ready. For example, Wisconsinites are big meat eaters, so we had to bring in a lot more meat, and a lot more alcohol. Everybody is here to have a good time so there is a lot of preparation."
The Hyatt says they love when Wisconsin is in the Rose Bowl because the team travels so well with their fans.
And fans couldn't ask for any better weather - sunny and 60's right up until game day, January 1st.
And it happens every Rose Bowl - - the mayors of both teams cities put a wager on the outcome of the big game.
However, this year - both city leaders are taking the bet to an earthier level.
Madison and Palo Alto's mayors have agreed that the losing city will organize a tree planting in honor of the winning team.
School pride will still be on display -- the losing mayor will also wear the opposing team's hat during a city council meeting.
