Technical difficulties at WFRV

Green Bay, Wis (WFRV) - WFRV Local 5 has been experiencing technical difficulties during evening newscasts and primetime programming over the past two nights.

Equipment failure is to blame.

Station officials have released a statement saying they believe to have fixed the problem today:

"We regret the inconveniences to our viewers due to interruptions in programming. Our engineering team is aware of the technical difficulties and is working to resolve the issues. We installed replacement equipment today and believe this will help solve these concerns."

With the replacement of equipment, if viewers using a down converter box or TV antenna still cannot see Local 5, they are asked to do a channel rescan. It is best to unplug the converter box, plug it back in, and then do the rescan. If the channel still cannot be seen, try entering in 39.1 ( The dot may be a dash on some models.) The TV or converter box will go to the proper frequency and then change itself to 5.1 after a moment.

Cable or satellite television subscribers should not have any problems.

Thank you for staying with Local 5 and we appreciate your patience.
