Calumet County (WFRV)  A local man is dead after falling through the ice on Lake Winnebago.

The incident happened just before two Saturday afternoon.

The Calumet County Sheriff's Department says two utility terrain vehicles were traveling across the ice off the High Cliff State Park Marina--- when the riders encountered open water.

One vehicle made it across-- the second did not.

The Calumet County Dive Team was able to locate the man and retrieve him from the water.

The 42 year old Sherwood man had been in the water for about an hour--- he was taken to  Theda Cark Hospital where he later died.
