Lafayette County  (WFRV)--    The bitter cold Wisconsin is experiencing this weekend may have already caused the death of a woman in the state.

Lafayette County authorities believe exposure to the elements resulted in the death of 77 year old Mary Scudder of Illinois.

Family members first reported her missing on Friday.  Scudder's car was found off the road in Argyle Township on Saturday.

Multiple area police and fire departments searched the area and found her dead 30 feet away from her vehicle.

An autopsy is planned and the investigation of her death continues.
