BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) - Tuesday's warm temperatures melted snow and created quite a mess around northeast Wisconsin.

Rising water caused some problems for drivers and road crews in Brown County. Near Highway 57 south of De Pere, ditches filled with water and spilled over onto the roadways.

County crews worked to unclog the drains, which they said had filled with debris after unfreezing throughout the day.

Workers said it's a problem they don't typically have to deal with right in the middle of winter.

"Later in March probably," Jim Burkel, with the Brown County Highway Department, said. "But it all depends on the weather. If it warms up like this, this is a problem we're going to have."

Officials say not to try and drive through water on the roadways. It's best to turn around and notify the sheriff's department.
