Neenah, Wis.(WFRV)-- A teacher in the Neenah Joint School District resigned after district officials learned she was sending pictures of students to a friend in prison.

Christina Peerenboom is no longer employed at Tullar Elementary School.
She resigned yesterday from her first full-time teaching assignment in the district.
District officials learned of the pictures being sent to Peerenboom's long time friend, a prison inmate,  after Wisconsin prison officials intercepted a package with pictures inside.
The superintendent says she's disappointed about the teacher's poor choice.

Dr. Mary Pfeiffer, Neenah Joint School District, "I think its not good to be sharing information about our students to anyone in prison,  so from a district viewpoint,  its unfortunate."

Local Five's Donald Robinson talked to parents about the incident.  Watch the video for a full report.
