Update: 2 Found Unresponsive in Ice Shanty- One Person Dies

Calumet County (WFRV) - The Calumet County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident on Lake Winnebago that has left one person dead-- another hospitalized.

 

At around 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the Sheriff's Department received a report of a medical emergency on the ice.

 

Update: Officers found a 31 year old Sara B. Meyer of Chilton and 37 year old Travis A. Duchow of Chilton unresponsive in an ice shanty.

 

Meyer was pronounced dead at the scene.  Duchow was flown to Theda Clark hospital--- then taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton where he was treated and released on Sunday.

 

The ice shanty was approximately a half mile off Ecker Lakeland Drive.

 

An autopsy for Meyer is scheduled for Monday.
