Apartment fire in Green Bay caused by child playing with lighter

GREEN BAY, Wis (WFRV) A child playing with a lighter is to blame for an apartment fire Sunday morning on Green Bay's East Side.

The fire happened around 10 a.m. It was contained to the bedroom of a 2nd story apartment.

No injuries were reported, but the family cat was lost in the blaze.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department estimates there was about $30,000 damage to the unit.

Fire bosses say approximately twelve people were displaced by the fire.
