OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) More and more students at UW Oshkosh are getting on the bus. The University's partnership with GO Transit hit 101,000 rides in 2012. That's up 18% since 2011.
Students, faculty and staff can ride for free by showing their campus ID's. University leaders estimate the increase in bus rides last year saved 13,078 gallons of gas and prevented 256,329 pounds of CO2 from entering the environment.
City leaders say overall ridership in the community is up. The partnership with GO Transit has been around for more than a decade.
